Labex LC-AS20 is a second-generation benchtop automated Immunohistochemistry (IHC) stainer, specifically designed to meet the needs of clinical In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) testing as well as research applications. The instrument provides a complete turnkey solution, combining a compact footprint with reliable and consistent staining performance.

Slide Capacity and Individual Heating

The system supports staining of up to 20 slides per run. A key feature is that each staining position is equipped with an individual heating module, ensuring optimal and uniform temperature control for every sample.

Open System Flexibility

Labex LC-AS20 supports both open and closed system operation. Users may choose to work with manufacturer-supplied antibodies and reagents, while also retaining full freedom to use laboratory-developed or third-party reagents, allowing broad protocol customization.

Integrated Staining Cycle

The automated staining workflow includes dewaxing and antigen retrieval within a single integrated cycle, with a total processing time of approximately 3.5 to 4 hours.

Reagent and Temperature Precision

The required primary antibody volume per slide ranges from 120–150 µL (or 100 µL for square-demarcated slides). The thermal system features a fast heating ramp rate combined with controlled slow cooling, enabling optimal antigen retrieval. Manual antibody addition during the staining cycle is also supported when necessary.

Waste Management and Identification

For enhanced laboratory safety, the instrument separates toxic and non-toxic waste and includes liquid waste level detection. The system supports QR-coded slides and reagents for accurate traceability, and features repetitive probe washing to effectively prevent cross-contamination.

Operating System and Control

Powered by Windows 8 or Windows 10, the software is highly flexible and programmable, allowing users to modify staining steps according to specific requirements. Process information and reagent status can be monitored in real time via the display. The user interface is available in English, Mandarin, and other languages.
